FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does doopsis produce its own products in Latvia?

Yes! Doopsis is a proud Latvian company. We have a nice little workshop in the most beautiful city of central Latvia - Madona.

doopsis cloth diapers are manufactured in Latvia (EU). All fabrics used are OEKO-TEX certified!

What if I want to give it a try, but do not want to invest a large amount?

Start with one! Also, a single cloth diaper is a significant amount of saved money, if we take into account that you can use it until the potty-training-age (approx. one and a half years)! Also, if we count how many disposable diapers do not end up in a landfill, by using only one cloth diaper every day... I can tell you - about one garbage container!

To thoroughly try and understand, we recommend buying a kit with three cloth diapers and liners!

How many diapers do I need?

It depends on how you plan to use them. Many parents use cloth diapers, for example, only when at home. It also depends on how often you plan to wash them.

For a start, we recommend 8 cloth diapers for parents who will use them together with disposable diapers and 16 cloth diapers for those who will exclusively use the fabric diapers.

How long can I use these diapers?

With proper care, it will be possible to use these diapers for several children.

Why choose cloth diapers?

During the first year of your baby's life, up to 3000 disposable diapers are spent. This is a huge load for the environment (because they do not decompose in nature) and for your wallet (that's about 800-1000 EUR). To reduce both effects, it is possible to completely or partially switch to cloth diapers.

Cloth diapers are also more breathable, which is much better for your baby's sensitive skin. Therefore you can save yourself from worrying about rashes and bruises.

What size to choose?

Cloth diapers produced by us have one size for the time being, suitable for babies from 5-15 kg. To adjust the size of the diaper you need to use snap buttons!

Will the diapers leak?

Yes, they will! But disposable diapers also tend to have leaks. You can protect yourself against leaks by fine-tuning how tightly you seal the diaper. Most often, leaks arise from the legs, respectively, they must be tight. The diapers themselves are made of moisture-proof fabric and have comfortable rubbers that hold inside what needs to be kept there.

It is very important to take into account that leaks can also arise from improper care of the diaper! Possible leaks can occur from detergent and softener (when washing cloth diapers, you should not use laundry softeners!) residue that has clogged the pores of the fabric. If there is a suspicion that the absorption of cloth diapers has been affected by detergent deposits, we recommend that diapers and liners be washed a couple of times without detergents, only in warm water!

How many inserts should be put in one diaper?

One diaper can accommodate 1 or 2 inserts, depending on the needs of absorption. When putting in more than 2 inserts there is a risk that the baby will not be comfortable and it will create compression leaks. We also have thinner booster inserts, which give extra absorbency and are not very thick.

How many inserts should I buy?

We recommend buying as many inserts as diapers! If you are going to use cloth diapers for the first time, we also recommend that you try inserts from different materials, because each of us (including babies) is so different! Someone needs the insert to absorb moisture very quickly ( microfiber inserts will be more useful here), while for someone else it is important that the insert contains a large amount of moisture (natural fibre inserts such as bamboo and hemp will be best here).

How to wash diapers and inserts?

Both diapers and inserts can be washed in a washing machine at a temperature of 40C using a washing powder. CATEGORICALLY FORBIDDEN to use a laundry softener, as it changes the absorption properties of the inserts.

How to ”revive" incorrectly washed inserts?

It is possible to restore the inserts by washing them with washing soda (sodium carbonate). It is necessary to do this if deposits of minerals and detergents have formed in them from improper care.
